TRAINING FACILITY DESIGN

Sacramento, CA

A new 5000 square foot training facility for SMUD. The building is being designed with a goal of LEED Silver. This project presents unique challenges to the design team to meet this goal on such a small building. Interdisciplinary coordination has proven invaluable to maximize the efficiencies of all of the building systems. Waterless urinals as well as low flow fixtures will be used to minimize water usage from a well water system. Particular attention is being paid to daylighting, thermal comfort and increased ventilation with an emphasis on post construction commissioning and verification to ensure the proper installation and operation of the systems. The goal is to make this project a showcase for efficient green building design.
