DESIGN OF NEW CENTRAL PLANT

Grass Valley, CA

Design for new central plant consisting of a 110-ton & 70-ton air-cooled chiller and (2) 2,000 MBH natural gas fired boilers.  The design includes (2) thermal, ice-on-coil tanks.

The TES system will take advantage of the utility companies Off Peak electrical costs by producing Ice during that period and using the ice during the Peak Electrical Cost period and not operating the chillers.  Full building commissioning was performed by third party commissioning agent.
